It can be so daunting to start an instrument but the rewards are tenfold. In fact, you can start composing your own music now with all the amazing software we have at our disposal. That is what I do at the Tale Teller Club music school, teach the basics and then start creating.

Have a listen to the track below. I used one note! Amazing to think that is even possible but it is.
The track is now available to listen to for free on the blog and to buy via the music
shop at the Tale teller Club website.

The inspiration for this track came whilst I was practicing my harmonics on my cello.
Cellists use harmonics a lot to check they are in tune and to understand what we call the cello map.

The cello map is very reliable and once we learn it, we can easily find any note on the string and improve our way of getting around.

But as I was Tuning up I really started wondering about melody. Could I make a piece of music using one note?
I added some drums of course which was a game-changer and I used all the C notes on my piano and cello.
Suddenly I could hear all the other notes in the scale and there it was....a song.

It is pretty amazing what you can do with a piano, even if you cannot play it and I have started a new series of experimental music classes.

Learn Piano Online, Podcasts for Visually Impaired Students

If you are keen to start in a more traditional vein, try my podcasts for beginners piano and cello. We are following traditional Suzuki methods as well as music therapy which includes music you can create yourself to increase inner peace and promote wellness.

Podcasts really are a new way to learn piano online. Our podcast offers beginner and intermediate level classes that are taught by a professional musician. You can learn at your own pace, and the lessons are available on demand.

Our Free Piano Class is also perfect for Visually Impaired learners! This podcast will take you step by step through the process of learning how to play the piano.

If you have a desire to learn how to play the piano but don't know where to start, look no further! Our Free Piano Class podcast is perfect for visually impaired individuals of all ages. With our step-by-step instructions, you'll be playing your favourite songs in no time.

If you don't have a piano you can start with a toy one that has a single octave or a virtual one from free software or apps. At some point of course, you will need an upgrade but you can cross that bridge when you come to it.
I start by explaining the note names of the octave. This is all you need for 100s of familiar melodies. Later we can add chords and make things sound juicier and more interesting.

Finally, for anyone who is really interested in experimental music and getting arty.........

I managed to update the recording studio which is fabulous news as tonight we are able to do our first experimental session for live night sounds.

I am setting up the mic and an auto loop with feedback on the open mic, and then I will just leave it for 5 hours.

5 hours is my limit with my streaming people if I want to save the recording and as this is my first official audio artwork, I want it saved.

I am placing the live mic near the fridge and I assume that I will get the fan sounds of the computers as well.

There will be a recording of my vocal on a loop and a bass beat from Little Drummer Boy.

I am really excited!
